Resources and Links for Dispute Resolution and Settlement:

As a Settlement Counsel, besides being trained and having experience in negotiations,  it is important to have an abundance of resources and a network of expertise to consult inorder to afford parties to a dispute every option and opportunity for resolution without litigation.  This is where from time to time I will be sharing the resources, materials, and links to other dispute resolution services that complement my methods and values for achieving optimal and sustainable dispute resolutions and settlements.

>Here is a interesting article from the Lawyers Weekly magazine which discusses the significance and benefits of engaging Settlement Counsel.

>Looking for a good place to find and research legislation and cases?  CanLII is a trusted and well respected source for Canadian Law.

>I have found this article entitled Responding to the Call for ADR to be very confirming of my decision to focus my practice on being a Settlement Counsel.

>From my law practice experience I have come to learn many times that mere enforcement of a party's legal rights does not always ensure the best respect for his or her personal interests in a matter.  That is a primary reason why I support the importance and value of engaging Settlement Counsel along with litigation counsel in the course of a legal dispute.

>The mere pursuit and enforcement of legal rights does not always ensure the respect and protection of interests, and good case law does not always necessarily ensure good results for the client.
