Welcome.

Julian BodnarAs a lawyer, with more than 29 years in the general practice of law in Saskatchewan and Alberta, I have worked extensively in a realm of contentious legal issues. Of particular note has been my legal representation and advocacy in matters of agriculture and the environment, and in oil and gas, surface rights, utility acquisitions and expropriations.

In the course of my practice I have always strived to ensure that my clients’ interests in matters were represented fairly and equitably. I have also strived to have their interests acknowledged through negotiated settlements and resolutions instead of relying predominantly upon formal litigation or administrative and regulatory procedures. In that regard too, I have tried to ensure that human components of legal differences and disputes were not forgotten in the the course of achieiving settlement and resolution.

From my extensve practice experiences, I have become convinced and confident that parties to a legal difference or dispute can have a significantly better expectation that their respective interests in a matter will be acknowledged and addressed more fairly and equitably through a mutually agreed upon settlement or resolution process, rather than a long and drawn out contentious and costly legal or regulatory proceeding. My formal practice now therefore, is to provide opportunities and options to parties for resolving their differences and disputes outside of having to defer solely to costly and drawn out litigation procedures, regulatory approval processes, courts, and administrative tribunals.  Instead of focussing on litigation and rights advocacy I now focus on facilitating interest based negotiations and settlement advocacy.  In this vein, I offer and provide my servces as  Settlement Counsel, Mediator, and Arbitrator.  I welcome consultations and engagements in both private and civil matters, and matters of public interest, relating  to Aging, Environment, Agriculture, Business, Work, and Disability

Thank you for taking time to learn about my settlement advocacy and practice services. With my training and experiences as a lawyer and my training in dispute settlement methods, and my sense of fairness and desire for justice,  I am confident that I can help you reach optimal and sustainable dispute resolutions and settlements which will respect both your rights and your interests in a matter.  I hope too that you will come back and visit soon and often, especially to check out the Learn More and Preferred Areas of Practice sections of my website where I will be providing timely updates and resources and links for dispute resolution and settlement services.

Regards,
Julian Bodnar
